Henry Neikirk, an early owner of the land (1882 to 1898), is remembered as one of the early pioneers of Colorado. He came to Boulder in 1875 and built a large brick home at the corner of 9th and Portland. Neikirk served in the state legislature for two terms (1879 to 1881) and also served as the director and vice-president of the Bank of Boulder for fourteen years. In addition, Neikirk was a large landholder, owning more than 1200 acres in Boulder and Weld counties. He founded the Neikirk-Stewart Addition (north of Maxwell's Addition) which consisted of 165 lots. C. Perley April 1, 1963~April 29, 2009 Resident of Danville James Perley, born
and raised in Newark, CA, died unexpectedly in his sleep on Wednesday, April
29th, 2009. He was only 46 and leaves behind his wife Robi, and four young
children, James II, age 12, Hunter, age 11, Ivanhoe Connor, age 9 and Carlynn,
age 2. James is also survived by his Mother Patricia, sisters Sheri, Sandra,
Serena, and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. James was passionate about
life, his family, his music, and his career in law, following his father's
footsteps. He was a fun-machine, colorful in everything he did, and always
laughing. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Friday, May
8th, 2009 at 1pm at Community Presbyterian Church, 222 W. El Pintado Road,
Danville (925) 837-5525. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to:
