Making some sense of things, Place, Bridges and Noland of Decatur Twp, Washington County, Ohio.

1. Joseph Place (abt 1793) married a Sarah Noland (abt 1804)

Sarah appears to have died between 1826 and 1828 (child birth?).

2. Joseph Place (abt 1793 in Vermont) married Sarah Sally Bridges (abt 1794)

3. There appears to be a discrepancy on which Sarah came first. I am not sure that it can be resolved.

4. LDS records show that Sarah Sally Bridges married Joseph on 22 April 1824 and Sarah Noland on 1 Jun 1828.

5. The following children were born to these two mariages.

George was born about 1826

Walter was born about 1829

Elizabeth was born 31 Jul 1830

Horace was born about 1831

Lucy was born about 1833

6. The 1830 census of Decatur, Washington, OH indicates that there was one male under five, one male between 30 and 40 and one female between 20 and 30. Suppositiion: This could not be Sarah Bridges (abt 1794) as she would be about 36.

7. The 1840 census of Decatur, Washington, OH indicates that there was one male between 5 and 10, one male between 10 and 15, one male between 40 and 50, one female between 5 and 10, one female between 10 and 15, one female between 15 and 20 and one female between 40 and 50.

8. Sally can be the nickname of Sarah

9. Joseph apparently died between 1850 census and 1860 census.

10. Sally apparently died between 1860 and 1870.

11. Nathaniel (abt 1796 in Vermont), presumably brother of Joseph, married a Martha (NFI) who begat William, David, Austin and Freeman.

12. Apparently Horace moved to Rome, Athens County, Ohio where he was residing with Sally Place (abt 1794, Virginia) (widowed)
